Welcome to the Thibault Merle's homepage
Currently, I am a postdoc fellow in astrophysics and teaching assistant
at the Institut d'Astronomie et d'Astrophysique of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
I have a PhD in astrophysics at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur at the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis, France.
Main research interests
Late-type stars are fascinating but complex objects that demand careful attention to analyse. I am especially interested in the NLTE line formation in the atmosphere of such stars.
- Stellar atmospheres (photospheres and chromospheres) of late-type stars
- Non Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (NLTE) in stellar spectral line formation
- Chemical abundance analyses, especially in chemically peculiar stars
- Detection and analysis of spectroscopic binaries (SBs)
